EPFO 3.0: The EPFO has announced an interest rate of 8.25 percent for the financial year 2026. Interest rates have remained stable over the last few years. Recently, several modifications have been introduced to this scheme to enhance benefits for private sector employees. Notably, in EPFO 3.0, the organization has focused heavily on ATM withdrawals and paperless settlements. Let’s take a look at the upcoming changes for subscribers.
What’s the update regarding EPFO 3.0?
The organization aims to ensure quicker claim settlements. EPFO 3.0 will offer subscribers improved access to their funds. This means they will be able to transfer their PF through UPI and withdraw it from UPI-enabled ATMs. This new feature will enable subscribers to make withdrawals as needed. Once the EPFO 3.0 services are launched, subscribers will find it easy to withdraw or transfer money from their bank accounts using UPI.
The Ministry of Labor has also ramped up its efforts to introduce this new service. The data transfer was finalized in July, and now all information is consolidated in a single national database.
What changes are coming with EPFO 3.0? Currently, to withdraw partial or full funds, subscribers need to visit the website or office and complete a form. After processing the claim, the funds are typically transferred to the account within 15 to 20 days. However, EPFO 3.0 will not have such a timeline.
With the rollout of this new service, subscribers will be able to withdraw 50 to 75 percent of their funds using UPI or UPI-enabled ATMs. They will also be able to check the amount that will be transferred to their bank account.
The greatest advantage for subscribers is that they can transfer money to their bank account using their linked UPI PIN. Once the transfer is complete, subscribers can use the funds as they wish.
Members will have the ability to activate their UAN through the UMANG App using face authentication. This will make it easier for them to access their passbook, correct any inaccuracies, and settle claims. The auto-settlement amount has been increased from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. Furthermore, subscribers will now be able to access their funds within just three days. This decision will enable subscribers to make timely payments for everything from buying a home to paying children’s fees.
