EPF Interest 2026: Good news for around 80 million EPF account holders as the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has officially declared an interest rate of 8.25% for the financial year 2025-26. Instructions have been given to all regional offices to deposit the interest amount into members’ accounts promptly.

The recent circular from EPFO states that the central government has sanctioned an interest rate of 8.25% for 2025-26 as per the Employees’ Provident Fund Scheme, 1952. All relevant offices have been instructed to credit this interest to members’ EPF accounts without delay.

This time, the EPFO has streamlined its database and upgraded its software system, making the process of crediting interest faster and more efficient than before. Previously, it took one to two months for interest to be credited, but this time it is expected to be quicker.

EPF members have been eagerly awaiting the crediting of interest to their accounts. The Central Board of Trustees (CBT) of EPFO approved an interest rate of 8.25% in March 2026 for the fiscal year 2025-26, which was later approved by the Finance Ministry before being credited to accounts.

The interest rate has remained constant at 8.25% for the third consecutive year, as approved by the Finance Ministry in June 2026. Following formal approval, EPFO has initiated the process of depositing interest amounts into accounts. If you have an EPF account, you can expect to see 8.25% interest for the financial year 2025-26 credited to your account soon.
