Foiled Murder Bid on Munawar Faruqui – The Delhi Police Special Cell has achieved a major success! Two dreaded gangsters associated with the Rohit Godara-Goldy Brar-Virendra Charan syndicate have been arrested following an encounter on Delhi’s Jaitpur-Kalindi Kunj Road. They were allegedly plotting to murder renowned comedian and social media influencer Munawar Farooqui.
Who are these gangsters?
The arrested criminals have been identified as Rahul (a resident of Panipat, Haryana) and Sahil (a resident of Bhiwani, Haryana). Rahul was wanted in a triple murder case in Yamuna Nagar, Haryana, in December 2024 and had been absconding since then. According to the police, both gangsters were injured in the encounter and have been taken to the hospital for treatment.
What was the conspiracy plan?
According to police sources, the gangsters intended to kill comedian Munawar Farooqui. To carry out the murder plot, they also conducted a recce (spying) on Munawar in Mumbai and Bengaluru. Investigation has revealed that both accused were acting at the behest of foreign-based gangster Rohit Godara, who, along with Goldy Brar and Virendra Charan, was carrying out the entire conspiracy. According to the police, Munawar Farooqui was targeted by this gang because of his past controversial statements.
How did the encounter happen?
Delhi Police received intelligence about the presence of these shooters near New Friends Colony. Police immediately took action and laid a trap on Kalindi Kunj-Pushta Road. Around 3 a.m., a suspicious motorcycle was spotted. When police signaled them to stop, the riders opened fire on the police team. In retaliation, the police opened fire, injuring both suspects in the legs. They were then apprehended and taken to the hospital. The weapon and motorcycle have been seized from the scene.

The police are now rigorously interrogating both shooters to determine who ordered the murder and who else was involved in the conspiracy. This arrest not only foils a major conspiracy but also demonstrates the swiftness with which the Delhi Police is taking action against gangsters.
