While dust storms swept through Delhi and Mysore early this morning, the Meteorological Department has issued a forecast predicting rain accompanied by strong winds across North and West India on April 3rd. In Uttar Pradesh, the weather presents a mixed picture—sunny in some areas, yet overcast in others, resembling the skies of Diwali.

A distinct shift is evident in UP’s weather patterns; the Meteorological Department has issued an advisory indicating the likelihood of rain across various parts of the state over the next three days, starting today. Additionally, warnings regarding isolated hailstorms have been issued for certain locations.

Regarding April, a Western Disturbance is expected to remain active this week—specifically on April 3rd and 4th, and again on April 7th. Furthermore, a warning for heavy rainfall has been issued for the Kashmir Valley on April 3rd and 4th. So, let’s take a look at what the weather holds for the coming days.

 North India Weather Update
The Meteorological Department forecasts a significant likelihood of rain across the Northern Plains—including Delhi, Punjab, and Haryana—on April 3rd. In addition to rain, there is a possibility of storms and accompanying hailstorms. In Jammu & Kashmir, scattered rainfall is expected on Friday. The rain is also expected to provide people with some relief from the heat.

 Hilly States Weather Forecast
In the hilly states, moderate rainfall is expected across the mountainous regions of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on April 3rd. The higher reaches of these regions are also likely to experience fresh snowfall. Due to the rain and storms, maximum temperatures could drop by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius.

The western parts of Uttar Pradesh may experience heavy rainfall up until April 3rd. Meanwhile, in Eastern Uttar Pradesh, hailstorms are possible on April 5th.

Rain Alerts for These States
According to the Meteorological Department, Maharashtra and the Marathwada region are likely to experience scattered rainfall accompanied by hailstorms on April 3rd. Additionally, in Madhya Pradesh—specifically in the districts of Agar-Malwa, Betul, Faizabad, Khargone, Mandsaur, Rajgarh, and Shajapur—rain accompanied by strong winds and lightning is expected. Kerala and Mahe are likely to experience rain, lightning, and strong winds until April 5. Similar weather conditions are expected to persist in Andhra Pradesh (coastal regions),Yanam, Telangana, and Interior Karnataka until April 6. There is a possibility of lightning strikes in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal between April 3 and April 6.

Weather Forecast for UP
In Ghaziabad, situated adjacent to Delhi, dense dark clouds have been visible since early morning. A warning has been issued for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and rain today. This change in weather conditions has also led to a drop in temperature; the maximum is 33 degrees Celsius, while the minimum is 23 degrees Celsius.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of lightning strikes today in several districts—including Ghaziabad, Aligarh, Agra, Shamli, and others—and a warning has been issued for strong winds of 40–50 km/h.
