UPSC CSE Mains 2025 Registration Begins : The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has started the application process for the main examination of Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025. Candidates who have cleared the preliminary examination can now apply for the main examination. The application process is being done through online mode only, and for this one has to fill the form by visiting the official website upsconline.nic.in. The last date has been fixed as 25 June 2025.
Who can apply?
A total of 14,161 candidates have cleared the UPSC CSE prelims this year. Only those candidates who have cleared the preliminary stage can apply for the main exam. Candidates who have not cleared the prelims cannot participate in this process.
Main exam dates
According to the schedule released by UPSC, the main examination will start from 22 August 2025. The entire examination process will be completed within five days. All the papers will be held on the scheduled dates, for which the detailed timetable will be released later by the commission.
Application fee information
General category candidates will have to pay a fee of ₹ 200.
On the other hand, Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Divyang and Women candidates are completely exempted from the application fee.
The fee will be paid online.
How to apply?
Candidates will first have to visit the UPSC website and login with their old registration ID and password. After logging in, the detailed application form (DAF) has to be filled, which contains personal information, educational qualification, job experience (if any), service preference, and other necessary details.
Along with this:
Photo, signature, identity card and other necessary documents will also have to be uploaded.
If a candidate has changed his name, then a government gazette certificate can also be given for that.
Disabled candidates can also register their options like assistive devices, scribe facility or demand for paper in large letters at this stage.
Prelims Result Status
UPSC has recently declared the result of Prelims 2025. This result can be seen on the commission’s website upsc.gov.in. However, the result of four candidates is still withheld due to judicial process.
When with the cutoff and marks come?
The cutoff marks of the prelims exam, the scores of the candidates and the answer key will be released when the entire civil services examination process, including the Indian Forest Service Examination, is over and the final result is declared.
