UP Scholarship 2026 – Yogi Govt Increases Class 9 & 10 Scholarship to ₹3,000 Before Holi

New Delhi, UP Scholarship 2026: The Uttar Pradesh government is making significant decisions these days. Before Holi, students in grades 9 and 10 received a significant gift. The scholarship amount for students in grades 9 and 10 has been increased. The state government will now provide a scholarship of ₹ 3,000 to students in these classes.

Previously, this amount was ₹2,250. This will benefit approximately 3.8 million students. Furthermore, it will also help children from economically disadvantaged families continue their education. Uttar Pradesh Minister of State for Backwards Classes Welfare and Disabled Empowerment, Narendra Kashyap, credited Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for the increase in scholarship amounts. He described this step as crucial in ensuring equal access to education.

Minister of State Narendra Kashyap stated that under the Scholarship and Fee Reimbursement Scheme of the Backwards Classes Welfare Department, no eligible student in the state has been deprived of scholarships since 2023-24. This is the first time in the state’s history.

Scholarship information in the state was previously released on March 31st. However, this system has been changed. Scholarship distribution began on September 25th, 2025. So far, approximately 2 million students have received scholarships ahead of schedule.

Increase in age limit

Under the new rules, the state government has increased the parental income limit for scholarships to ₹2.5 lakh (from ₹2 lakh). Previously, this limit was ₹2 lakh (₹2 lakh). This will allow more needy students to benefit from this scheme. Approximately 3.8 million students are expected to receive scholarships in 2026 and 2027.

Disability Pension Amount Increased

The Yogi government has also made major improvements to schemes related to the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities. The decision has been taken to increase the disability pension amount from ₹1,000 per month to ₹1,500 per month. According to the minister, before 2017, this amount was only 300 rupees. It was increased fivefold in a phased manner. A budget of over 1,400 crore rupees has been allocated for pensions.
