Schools in Andhra Pradesh have been temporarily closed since the beginning of November due to bad weather and cyclones. The state government has issued an order that schools and colleges in 12 districts, including Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Guntur, Eluru, NTR, Bapatla, Palnadu, and YSR Kadapa, will remain closed until October 31.

All institutions are expected to reopen in November once the situation returns to normal.

Educational Institutions Closed in Odisha

Schools have also been closed in several districts of Odisha due to heavy rains and cyclones. These include Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, and Kalahandi. The state administration stated that the date for reopening schools will be decided after reviewing the situation.

Holiday for Jagadhatri Puja in West Bengal

Jagadhatri Puja will be celebrated with great pomp in West Bengal on October 31st. Schools and educational institutions across the state will be closed on this day. This festival is celebrated with the same enthusiasm as Durga Puja and is an important part of Bengal’s cultural identity.

Holidays in Jammu and Kashmir as well

All government and private schools in the Jammu division will remain closed until November 2nd due to the Puja holiday. The administration has directed that regular classes will resume in all schools from November 3rd.
