Schools Closed: January has begun, and several states across the country are experiencing severe cold weather. Schools in various states are closed for winter break. State governments have issued orders to keep schools closed to protect children’s health. In addition to cold weather, school holidays will be observed for festivals, national days (Republic Day, Independence Day), the birthdays of national heroes, and other important events.

School Holiday Today

In Delhi, all schools will remain closed from January 1 to 15 due to winter holidays. In Punjab, schools will be closed from December 22 to January 10. Haryana will have winter holidays from January 1 to 15, 2026. CM Yogi had declared a holiday in all schools and colleges until January 1. Meanwhile, basic education schools will remain closed until January 14. According to the official calendar of the Basic Education Department, all primary and upper primary schools in the state will have a holiday until January 14, 2026.
