School Holiday: There was a long holiday for Dussehra and Diwali. Children eagerly wait for school holidays. Whenever there is a holiday, they have a blast. In such a situation, on November 24, 2025, people across the country will celebrate Guru Tegh Bahadur Martyrdom Day with reverence and respect. Many states will observe a public holiday on this occasion. In addition to Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh, the Uttarakhand government has issued a holiday notification. All government and private schools, colleges, and educational institutions in Uttar Pradesh will also be closed on this day.

Two Days Off
On Martyrdom Day, there will be no classes or other work in educational institutions. Since Monday is a holiday, students will receive two days off, including Sunday. Since November 23rd is a Sunday, schools will be closed for two consecutive days. November 24th will be a public holiday. On this day, there will be no work in ministries, all government departments, courts, municipal offices, and local bodies.

Banks will also remain closed.

This holiday is mentioned in the RBI’s 2025 holiday calendar. According to this, banks will also be closed in many states on Guru Tegh Bahadur Martyrdom Day. Cash transactions, check clearance, and most offline services will not be available on November 24th in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Chandigarh, and Jammu and Kashmir. Customers are advised to complete essential banking work by November 22nd. Bank operations will then resume on November 25th.

The IMD has issued a rain alert in some states, which may result in school holidays. Due to the heavy rain warning, schools in Tamil Nadu will remain closed on November 18th. Schools may be closed in several districts of Tamil Nadu. However, students should contact the school administration for confirmation.
