Process of impeachment
Let us tell you that Article 324 of the Constitution gives the Election Commission the status of an independent institution, due to which the Election Commission works separately from the government. Removing the Chief Election Commissioner is not an easy process, because he can be removed only through impeachment. He cannot be removed from the post until the impeachment motion is passed against him in both houses of Parliament.
If there is ever a need to bring impeachment, then first the proposal is placed in either the Lok Sabha or the Rajya Sabha. If a two-thirds majority of the members present and voting in the house get votes on this proposal, then it is considered passed. Similarly, this proposal must also be passed by a two-thirds majority in the other house. If it is passed by both houses, then the President issues an order, and only then can the Chief Election Commissioner be removed from his post.

Salary and facilities
At present, Gyanesh Kumar is working in the post of Chief Election Commissioner, so if we talk about his salary and facilities, then the Chief Election Commissioner and Election Commissioners get a salary equal to the judges of the Supreme Court.
