NEET 2025: Since the NEET UG exam is to be conducted in the first week of May, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) has resolved to revise its examination schedule. The change will impact undergraduate examinations in all three years. Several affiliated colleges and university departments are being utilized as NEET exam centers, compelling a rescheduling of some university papers.

University Exams Affected by NEET

DAVV has declared that first, second, and third-year undergraduate exams are to be rescheduled. This is because government colleges and private colleges in Indore have been designated as NEET examination centers by National Testing Agency (NTA). DAVV papers under conventional courses from 1st to 5th May are going to be rescheduled to later dates. The new schedule will be released on the university portal by 21st April.

Thousands of Students to be Affected

This revision is likely to impact almost 1.25 lakh students. NEET will be held between 1st to 5th May and about 28,000 Indore district candidates alone will be appearing. In order to facilitate these candidates, DAVV’s IMS, IIPS, and IET departments have also been assigned as exam centers. Approximately 2,000 NEET candidates will be accommodated in these institutions.

Revised Dates to be Announced Soon

DAVV has also ensured that fresh exam dates will be declared by 21st April. DAVV Assistant Registrar, Dr. Vishnu Mishra, said that a letter of Collector Ashish Singh is received. In the letter, the university was instructed to offer its departments as NEET centers. Thus, it is not possible to conduct university exams at this time.

Why Rescheduling Was Inevitable

With major colleges taken up for NEET and exam arrangements vastly impacted, rescheduling DAVV exams became unavoidable. Talks were also conducted with DAVV Vice Chancellor Dr. Rakesh Singh on this issue. The administration decided that re-scheduling exams was the only feasible decision in such a situation.

Impact on Teachers and Administration

Besides students, university teachers and examination staff will also be impacted. Teachers deployed to assess university exams might now be diverted for NEET duty, further presenting administrative hurdles. Numerous departments are now getting ready for double responsibilities within a congested timetable.

Guidelines for Affected Students

Students are advised to stay updated through DAVV’s official website. Regular notifications and revised exam dates will be shared online. Since the rescheduling only affects exams from 1st to 5th May, students with exams before or after this period will follow the original timetable.
