MHT CET Result 2025 : The result of the MHT-CET (PCM Group) exam conducted for admission to engineering colleges in Maharashtra was released on Monday. This time 22 students have created history by securing 100 percentile. A total of 4,64,263 students had registered for the exam, out of which 4,22,663 students actually appeared in the exam.
Not only IIT, toppers’ power was seen in CET too
Most of these 22 toppers have already taken admission in prestigious institutions like IIT by performing brilliantly in JEE-Advanced. For example, Thane’s Arnav Nigam got All India Rank 11 in JEE and is now studying in IIT. Out of the remaining eight, four students are from outside Maharashtra and have not been able to take a decision yet. At the same time, there are four students from Maharashtra who want to take admission in engineering colleges of the state only.
Success of village girl Vaishnavi
Vaishnavi Sarje of Nanded district has also achieved 100 percentile. Coming from a farmer family, Vaishnavi had a dream of becoming an engineer, but first appeared for NEET on her father’s insistence. After getting low marks, she refused to choose any medical stream like BAMS and studied on her own for a year to prepare for CET. With the help of online platforms like YouTube and 12th class teachers, Vaishnavi prepared herself. Now she hopes to get admission in Computer Science Engineering at VJTI, Mumbai.
Anil got success with innovative efforts
Anil Patil of Nanded also tried again and got 100 percentile. Last year his score was 90 percentile, not satisfied with which he worked hard for one more year. This time he not only scored better but now he can get admission in a top college like COEP. Anil’s dream is to prepare for the civil services examination and become a government officer.
Chinmay from Pune focused only on CET
The story of Chinmay Chavan from Pune is also inspiring. He focused only on CET instead of national exams like JEE. His father Vikas Chavan told that he had advised his son to focus on one exam and perform well in it. Chinmay stayed in Kolhapur for two years and studied at Zenith Academy and now hopes to get admission in VJTI or COEP.
Status of Percentile Distribution
This time a total of 43,299 students have scored between 90 to 99.99 percentile. At the same time, the maximum number of 44,788 students are in the range of 70 to 79.99 percentile. This figure shows that the score of most of the students was in this mid range.
Trend of toppers from Mumbai region
There are 6 students from Mumbai Metropolitan Region who have scored 100 percentile in CET. All these students have already taken admission in IITs through JEE-Advanced. These include Mir Bhuva, Pranav Mintri, Siddhant Ghate, Gandhar Vartak, Anirudh Iyer and Arnav Nigam. Pranav says that he gave CET only for backup and practice, the real goal was always IIT.
Questions raised about ranking
After the results were released, some students and their parents have alleged irregularities in the ranking. A parent said that his son has got 152 marks but the percentile is only 89, which seems strange. However, an official of the CET cell clarified that this confusion occurs due to the normalization formula, which not all students understand. Percentile is prepared under this process.
