JEE Main 2026 Registration. Big news for millions of engineering aspirants across the country. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will soon begin the JEE Main 2026 registration process. The application process will be activated on the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. The JEE Main exam is considered the first stage for admission to the country’s leading engineering colleges-IITs, NITs, and IIITs. This year, the exam will be held in two sessions. The first session will be held in January 2026, and the second session will be held from April 1 to 10, 2026.

JEE Main 2026 Registration: When will applications begin?
The NTA is expected to begin the registration process for the first session of JEE Main 2026 in the last week of October 2025. Once the application link is activated, candidates will be able to fill out the online form by visiting the website. The first session exam will be held between January 21 and 30, 2026. The second session exam will be held in April, and its registration window will open later.
JEE Main 2026: How to Apply
Once the link is activated, candidates can apply by following the simple steps below:
- Visit the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in.
- Click on the “JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Registration” link on the home page.
- Register as a new user and create a login ID and password.
- Fill in all the required information and upload the required documents.
- Pay the application fee online and download and save the confirmation page.
JEE Main 2026: Eligibility Criteria
As per eligibility, candidates must have passed Class 12th or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as subjects. Students passing in the year 2024 or 2025 can apply.
- General category students require 75% marks in Class 12th (65% for SC/ST) to gain admission to NITs, IIITs, or CFTIs.
- Candidates can appear for the exam up to six times (two sessions per year) over a maximum of three years.

JEE Main 2026 Exam Details: Exam Pattern and Subjects
The exam will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode and will include questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Each subject will have 30 questions, of which 20 will be MCQs and 10 will be numerical-type questions. Correct answers will carry 4 marks, while there will be a negative marking of 1 mark for incorrect answers.
