NCET 2025 Admit Card Details
NCET 2025 admit card has been released for students seeking admission to the four-year ITEP course. The admit card can be downloaded by the candidates on ncet2025.ntaonline.in using the application number and date of birth. NTA will hold the National Common Entrance Test (NCET 2025) on April 29, 2025.
What is ITEP Course
Under ITEP, Class 12-passed candidates can pursue four-year integrated degrees like BA BEd, BSc BEd, and BCom BEd. As per the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, from 2030 onwards, only those candidates who have completed a four-year BEd or an integrated teacher education degree will be eligible to become teachers. This course plays a vital role in preparing teachers for the envisioned new 5+3+3+4 schooling system under NEP 2020.
Institutions Offering ITEP Admission
The NCET 2025 entrance exam is being held to offer admission to premier institutions, including IITs, NITs, RIEs, and certain central, state universities, and government colleges. These institutions are offering the four-year Integrated Teacher Education Program to train prospective teachers for school education at different levels under the new policy framework.
ITEP Course Benefits
Completing the ITEP course will eliminate the need to individually pursue BEd or D.El.Ed degrees in order to qualify for teaching posts. Introduced under the NEP 2020, the course provides a modern and integrated system of teacher training. It is different from old four-year BEd courses and has been planned specifically for the upgraded school education system. Officially launched in March 2023, the ITEP program has been implemented in several best teacher education colleges in India.
How ITEP Saves One Year
ITEP offers a huge advantage of saving one complete academic year. Previously, students would opt for a three-year graduation and a two-year BEd course. But the ITEP allows them to get graduation and teaching degrees in four years only. The students can go for dual degrees such as BA BEd, BSc BEd, or BCom BEd, based on the stream they choose, thereby making it an efficient path for future educators.
