Primary Teacher Salary: The salary of government primary teachers in India varies according to the state and institution. Selection commissions of different states of the country select them and the state government determines their salary. However, these days there is a lot of discussion about the implementation of the 8th Pay Commission in the country. Now in such a situation, the question arises that how much salary will the primary teachers get after the implementation of the 8th pay.
If we talk about Uttar Pradesh, then the pay scale of primary teachers here is between Rs 9,300 to Rs 34,800, which includes a grade pay of Rs 4,200. If we talk about Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), then the in-hand salary (including HRA) of primary teachers here is around Rs 53,400.
Recently, the Central Government has approved the formation of the 8th Pay Commission, which aims to review the salary, allowances and pension of government employees and pensioners. According to experts, if the fitment factor in the 8th Pay Commission is fixed between 2.6 to 2.85, then there can be an increase of about 25-30 percent in salary and pension. For example, if the fitment factor is 2.86, then the minimum basic salary can increase to Rs 51,480. In this way, there is a possibility of a significant increase in the salary of primary teachers, although the correct figures will be clear only after the recommendations of the commission and the approval of the government.
At present, government teachers are paid according to the different grade pay of the state. States recruit them through examinations like REET and Super TAT, after which primary teachers are given pay scale after appointment. However, salary information is shared only with the guidelines. Now in such a situation, all the teachers are eagerly waiting for the implementation of the 8th Pay.
