Important Dates

If we talk about the important dates of GATE 2026 here, the application starts from 28 August 2025, which will run till 28 September 2025, then the last date for application with a late fee is 9 October 2025. In the notification issued, the dates of examination have been given on 7, 8, 14 and 15 February 2026.

GATE 2026 exam will be conducted in two shifts. Forenoon session from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and afternoon session from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. The admit cards will be available for download from January 2, 2026, while the score cards will be available for download from March 27 to May 31, 2026.

Application Fee

The fee in GATE 2026 has been fixed differently according to the category, in which the fee for female candidates, SC, ST and Divyang categories is Rs 1,000 (regular period) and Rs 1,500 (extended period). For all other candidates, the fee has been kept at Rs 2,000 (regular period) and Rs 2,500 (extended period).
