CBSE Board Exam 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has instructed all schools to provide thorough practice to Class 10 students in solving question papers so that they can avoid making any mistakes during the exam. CBSE has announced changes to the paper-writing pattern for Class 10 students. The board has also issued new guidelines in this regard. The board has changed the format of the answer sheets and the rules for writing answers in Science and Social Science subjects. Students will have to write their answers accordingly in the Class 10 board examination. In addition, the board has issued clear instructions regarding rechecking or reevaluation.

The notification issued by the CBSE states that, “This year, to improve the quality of evaluation in Science and Social Science in Class 10, the question papers have been divided into different sections as per the details given below:

The Science question paper is divided into three (03) sections, namely Section A,
Section B, and Section C.
Section A includes Biology, Section B includes Chemistry, and Section C includes Physics.

Social Science
The question paper is divided into four (04) sections,
Section A includes History, Section B includes Geography, Section C includes Political Science, and Section D includes Economics.

Important Rules
Students will write their answers in the answer sheet by dividing it into 3 sections for Science and 4 sections for Social Science.
Answers to questions should be written only in the space designated for the respective section.
The answer to one section should not be written in or mixed with another section.
If the answers are mixed, they will not be evaluated, and no marks will be awarded.

Separate Box for Multiple Choice Questions

For Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and objective questions, special boxes will now be provided in the answer sheet. Students must write their answers only in those boxes.
