Dussehra-Diwali Special Trains: Great news for rail travelers heading home during the Dussehra and Diwali festivities! To handle the surge in passenger demand during these celebrations, Indian Railways has rolled out special trains across multiple routes. A total of 102 trips will be operated on these special services. You can start booking these special trains from September 27, 2026 (Sunday). These festival-themed trains will primarily depart from Mumbai’s Lokmanya Tilak Terminal (LTT) and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminal (CSMT), heading to destinations including Mau, Chennai, Bengaluru, Gorakhpur, Kolhapur, Latur, Thiruvananthapuram, Nagpur, and Varanasi.

Mumbai Central has unveiled an extensive lineup of 10 special trains that will operate on various schedules. Reservations for all these trains will commence on September 27, 2026. Passengers are encouraged to book their seats promptly.

Here are the 10 announced trains:

Train No. 01123: LTT (Lokmanya Tilak Terminus) to Mau (MAU) – Date & Day – 11th October 2026 to 20th November 2026 (Two days a week: Friday and Sunday)

Train No. 01015: CSMT (Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus) to Chennai Beach (CHENNAI BEACH) Date & Day- 14th October 2026 to 18th November 2026 (Every Wednesday)

Train No. 01013: CSMT to SMVT BENGALURU Date & Day- 10th October 2026 to 21st November 2026 (Every Saturday)

Train No. 01079: CSMT to Gorakhpur (GORAKHPUR) Date & Day- 16 October 2026 to 16 November 2026 (Daily)

Train No. 01417: CSMT to Kolhapur Date & Day- 15th October 2026 to 19th November 2026 (Every Thursday)

Train No. 01105: CSMT to LATUR Date & Day- 13th October 2026 to 24th November 2026 (Two days a week: Tuesday & Thursday)

Train No. 01463: LTT to Thiruvananthapuram North Date & Day- 15th October 2026 to 19th November 2026 (Weekly: Thursday)

Train No. 02139: CSMT to Nagpur (NAGPUR) Date & Day- 17th October 2026 to 21st November 2026 (Every Saturday)

Train No. 01179: LTT to SAWANTWADI ROAD Date & Day- 09 October 2026 to 20 November 2026 (Every Friday)

Train No. 01051: LTT to Banaras Date & Day- 14th October 2026 to 19th November 2026 (Two days a week: Wednesday & Thursday)

 

CSMT Mumbai – Chennai Beach Weekly Special Train-01015

The Mumbai – Chennai Beach Weekly Special train will run six trips between October 14th and November 18th. It will depart Mumbai every Wednesday at 12:35 AM and arrive in Chennai at 11:30 PM the same day. On its return journey, it will depart Chennai every Thursday from October 15th to November 19th at 4:00 AM and arrive in Mumbai at 4:00 AM the next day. This means a total of 12 trips in both directions.

Mumbai – Chennai Beach Weekly Special train will have stoppages at Dadar, Thane, Kalyan, Lonavala, Pune, Daund, Kurduvadi, Solapur, Kalaburagi, Wadi, Raichur, Mantralayam Road, Adoni, Guntakal, Gooty, Tadipatri, Yerraguntla, Kadapa, Renigunta, Orakkonam and Perambur stations.

CSMT Mumbai-Latur Bi-weekly Special Train-01105

The CSMT Mumbai-Latur bi-weekly special train (two days a week) is being introduced between Mumbai and Latur. This train will run every Tuesday and Thursday from October 13th to November 24th. The train will depart Mumbai at 12:35 pm and arrive in Latur at 11:40 am the same day. On its return journey, it will depart Latur at 4:30 pm and arrive in Mumbai at 4:10 am the next day. The train will stop at Dadar, Thane, Kalyan, Lonavala, Pune, Uruli, Daund, Bhigwan, Jejuri, Kurduwadi, Barshi Town, Dharashiv, and Harangul stations.

How to book?

Passengers can reserve seats on these special trains through the IRCTC’s official website, the RailOne app, and the railway’s computerized reservation centers (PRS). Tickets for reserved coaches can also be booked through the ‘UTS’ app. The railway administration has urged passengers to book early to avoid last-minute rush.
