Most people from Bihar prefer to travel home to celebrate Diwali and Chhath Puja. Consequently, securing a confirmed train seat during this period often becomes extremely difficult. While some book their tickets as soon as the booking window opens, others wait for ‘Tatkal’ (emergency quota) tickets. To facilitate travel, the Railways has been announcing special trains.
In a major move to accommodate the heavy rush of passengers travelling from Gujarat to Bihar, Western Railway has announced the operation of two pairs of ‘Amrit Bharat’ special trains between Surat (Udhna) and Jaynagar (Bihar), ensuring a comfortable journey. Thousands of people from Bihar work in Surat but often miss out on visiting home during the festive season due to the unavailability of train seats. Let us take a detailed look at these two new trains:
The Railways has announced two pairs of Amrit Bharat special trains: Train Nos. 09073/09074 and Train Nos. 09071/09072, operating on the Udhna-Jaynagar-Udhna route.
