The government has planned to evaluate the PM Kisan Yojana under the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.

The Development Monitoring and Evaluation Office (DMEO) associated with NITI Aayog has invited bids for the evaluation of this scheme. Let us tell you that the cost of this scheme to the government treasury is Rs 60,000 crore per year.
A minimum of 5000 farmers from 24 states will be included in the survey for scheme evaluation, out of which the top 17 are states. At the same time, about 95 percent of PM farmers are beneficiaries.”
What is PM Kisan Yojana
Let us tell you that PM Kisan is a central DBT scheme, under which financial assistance of Rs 6000 per year is given to all the landholding farmer families across the country.
The government has earmarked Rs 60 thousand crore for this scheme in 2024-25, which is equal to the budget and revised estimates of the last financial year. There were a total of 10 crore 71 lakh beneficiaries of the scheme in 2022-23.
Farmers are waiting for the 17th installment
The beneficiaries of Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi are waiting for the 17th installment. It is estimated that farmers will get the installment money under the scheme immediately after the results of the Lok Sabha elections.
Under this scheme started in the year 2019, 16 installments have been transferred so far. However, till now the installment of this scheme has not been increased but now when it is evaluated then it may increase.
