Let us tell you that the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways will issue new rules on driving license from June 1, which are as follows.

Now any person who wants to get their driving license can choose to take the driving test at their nearest centre.

Now you do not need to go to the concerned Regional Transport Office (RTO) as per the existing practice. The government will issue certificates to institutions that will be authorized to conduct driving tests.

From June 1, the penalty for driving without a Vidya license has now been made even more stringent. Now the fine ranges from ₹1000 to ₹2000.

If a minor is caught driving a vehicle, action will be taken against his parents. Apart from this, a heavy fine of up to ₹ 25000 will be imposed. The registration certificate of the vehicles will also be cancelled.

Now the rules for the documents required to get a new driving license have also been changed. Now the Ministry will inform applicants in advance what type of license they will receive, what specific documents will be required for this.

Additionally, to make roads across India more eco-friendly, the ministry is looking at ways to phase out 9,000 old government vehicles and improve emission standards for other vehicles.

The process of applying for driving license will remain the same as before. At present you can apply online by visiting the official website of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

However, they can also visit their respective RTO to submit the application manually through BHIM.
