DA Hike: State employees will not receive the three percent increased dearness allowance (DA) with their salaries before Diwali. The increased rate will not be credited to employees’ bank accounts with their October salaries, which will be paid in November.
DA Hike Update
The increased DA is expected to be paid in December, along with the November salary. The government is also preparing to distribute bonuses to employees before Diwali, a date the government will announce soon.
The central government has not yet decided on DA. State governments typically issue DA orders for their employees only after the central government issues them. Even if the order is issued in the next two to four days, employees will not receive the increased allowance along with their salaries before Diwali.
The extra DA you’re owed from July through October will be credited directly to your provident fund accounts and given out as National Savings Certificates. Since state government departments have already finalized their salary bills for October, they’re unable to make any changes at this point.
But there’s more to celebrate! The state is gearing up to hand out bonuses to more than 1.2 million deserving state employees and officers just before Diwali. The Finance Department has already prepared all the payment details and will soon get the green light from the Chief Minister. You could receive a bonus of up to Rs 7,000!

When will the dearness allowance of UP government employees increase?
The Uttar Pradesh government typically makes such announcements only after the central government’s decision. The UP government last announced a dearness allowance increase in May. At that time, the government increased the dearness allowance by 2 percent, increasing it from 58 to 60 percent. The central government had increased the dearness allowance by 2 percent in April, following which the UP government also increased the dearness allowance.
