What is CA Foundation?
CA Foundation is the first examination in the journey to becoming a Chartered Accountant (CA). It covers subjects such as Accounting, Business Law, Quantitative Aptitude, and Economics.
How to become a CA?
If you begin your CA studies after passing Class 12 and succeed in every exam on your first attempt without failing, it will take approximately 4.5 to 5 years to become a CA. The CA Foundation exam is the first milestone in this process. Students can register for it after appearing for their Class 12 examinations. It requires approximately four months of study. It consists of four papers covering subjects such as Accounts, Law, Mathematics, and Economics. Success at this stage allows you to advance to the next level.

The second stage is CA Intermediate. Passing both groups of the CA Intermediate exam opens the opportunity for ‘articleship.’ After completing the two-year articleship and advanced training, you reach the final stage of the CA course, known as CA Final. The CA Final now comprises only six papers. Upon passing these rigorous examinations, you officially become a ‘Chartered Accountant.’
