How much it costs to set up a gas agency depends on the infrastructure. Initially, an investment of Rs 15 to 30 lakh has to be made. This includes security deposit, warehouse and office construction or rent, computer, printer, and a weighing machine cost. It is necessary to have a vehicle for cylinder delivery.
How much will be earned from this?
The dealer also gets commission on the distribution of LPG cylinders. Currently, the dealer is getting a commission of Rs 73.08 on a 14.2 kg cylinder. A delivery charge of Rs 33.43 is also included in this. The dealer commission on a 5 kg cylinder is Rs 36.54. This also includes a distribution charge of Rs 16.72.
Apart from this, the dealer also earns income by selling gas stoves, regulators and gas supply pipes. If a dealer distributor supplies 3000 cylinders in a month, then a commission of Rs 73 is given per cylinder. The monthly income is (3,000 × ₹73 = ₹2,19,000). Out of this, the delivery charge is around Rs 1 lakh. That means if you deduct all the expenses of Rs 1.5 lakh, you can earn Rs 70,000 every month.
