New Delhi: The Uttar Pradesh government has given a major gift to employees and pensioners before Diwali. The government has increased the DA of state employees by 3%. This will benefit approximately 2.8 million employees and pensioners. This is being considered a booster dose during the festive season.

Employees’ DA has now increased to 58%. Currently, they were receiving 55% DA. The increased DA rates will be effective from July 1, 2025. Previously, the government had increased DA by 2%, effective from January 1, 2025. Salaries will also see significant benefits, as can be found below.

How much will salaries increase?

The Yogi Adityanath government has increased the DA of state employees by 3%. This will result in a significant increase in salaries. If an employee’s basic salary is Rs. 30,000, then the 3% DA will result in an increase of Rs. 900 per month. The clear meaning is that an increase of up to Rs 10,800 will be seen in one year, i.e., 12 months.

If an employee’s salary is Rs 40,000, then the 3% DA will result in an increase of Rs 1,200. The annual salary increase will be Rs 14,400. Along with the October salary, the government may also release arrears for July, August, and September. The government increases DA twice a year. The rates are effective from January 1 and July 1.

The Central Government Has Also Increased DA

The Modi government has also increased DA. The DA for central employees and pensioners has been increased by 3%, taking it to 58%. Previously, the DA for central employees was 55%. Now, all central employees are wondering when the government will implement the 8th Pay Commission.

The government approved the 8th Pay Commission in January 2025. Even after 10 months, the 8th Pay Commission committee has not been formed. This is a major blow to the hopes of employees and pensioners.
