What is the Lakhpati Didi Yojana?

The objective of the Lakhpati Didi Yojana is to make women self-reliant. Under this scheme, women associated with Self-Help Groups (SHGs) are provided interest-free loans of up to Rs. 5 lakh. This loan can be used to start self-employment, set up a small industry, or expand an existing business. The government provides interest subsidies on the loan under this scheme, so women do not bear the burden of actual interest. This scheme provides women with the opportunity to expand their businesses in various sectors such as agriculture, dairy, food processing, handicrafts, and the service sector.

Who can be a beneficiary?

Only women who are members of a recognised Self-Help Group can avail of the benefits of this scheme. The Lakhpati Didi Yojana is not limited to just loans. Women are also provided with skill training so that they can establish sustainable businesses effectively. The scheme aims to increase women’s annual income and empower them economically. In addition, women receive assistance in connecting with the market, selling their products, and running their businesses professionally.
