Recently the Bihar Government has started a unique and commendable scheme, under which the government sends ₹ 1 lakh directly to the accounts of women. Women will get ₹ 1 lakh
Many schemes are being run in Bihar to promote women’s empowerment, and one of these is ‘Nari Shakti Yojana‘. Through this scheme, the government provides financial assistance to women who are preparing for competitive exams. The government gives ₹ 1 lakh to women who pass the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Pre-Exam. This amount helps them in preparing for the main exam and further studies.
Similarly, women who pass the preliminary examination of the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) are given ₹ 50 thousand. The government has so far given ₹ 50 thousand to 2955 women who have passed the preliminary examination of BPSC, while ₹ 1 lakh has been given to 102 women who have passed the preliminary examination of UPSC. This shows that this scheme is empowering women. So, if you are also from Bihar and pass the preliminary examination of UPSC, then you will also be entitled to ₹ 1 lakh.

Eligibility for application
Only those girls and women who are permanent citizens of Bihar can apply for this scheme.
Modes of Application
Online Application
You can apply online by visiting the official portal of the Bihar Social Welfare Department.
Find the link of ‘Nari Shakti Yojana’ or ‘Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyami Yojana’ (it often comes under this scheme) on the portal.
Fill out the required form and upload all the required documents.
Offline Application
For offline applications, you have to visit the RTPS Counter of your Block Office.
Get the application form from there, fill it and submit it along with all the required documents.
