The central government runs many schemes for farmers. One of them is the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Yojana. Under this scheme, eligible farmer families get ₹6,000 every year in three equal parts. But now this scheme may change. On Friday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that under the Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, farmers in Jammu and Kashmir will get an extra ₹4,000.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah said farmers now get ₹6,000. Soon they will get ₹4,000 more. The BJP’s Jammu and Kashmir manifesto says: “We will give ₹10,000 under PM Kisan Yojana. This will help farmers of Jammu and Kashmir.”
Before, the cost was ₹60,000 crore. Now, for 2025, it will be about ₹1 lakh crore. The money will go to farmers in three parts – ₹3,000, ₹4,000 and ₹5,000.
What is PM Kisan Yojana?
PM Kisan Yojana started in 2019. It gives small farmers money help. Farmers get ₹6,000 every year in three parts of ₹2,000. The money goes directly to their bank account.
In June 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave the 17th part of ₹2,000 crore. The 16th part was given on February 28, 2024. Farmers now wait for the next part.

- Select New Farmer Registration
- Choose Rural or Urban Farmer
- Enter Aadhaar number, mobile number, state, and get OTP
- Enter OTP and continue
- Fill bank details, personal details, district
- Submit for Aadhaar check
- Add land details and upload papers
- You will get a confirm or reject message
