Widow Pension- From time to time, the Delhi government runs many helpful schemes for poor, needy and weaker section women. One of these is the Delhi Widow Pension Scheme, also known as Distress Women Pension Scheme. The purpose of this scheme is to provide financial help to women who have lost their husbands i.e. are widows, divorced, destitute, or whose husbands have left them and they have no source of income.

What is Delhi Widow Pension Scheme?
The Delhi Widow Pension Scheme is for women aged 18 years or above who are widows, who are divorced, whose husbands have left them or they are separated, who are orphans or destitute. Every month, financial assistance of Rs 2,500 is sent directly to the bank account of all these women by the government.
To avail the benefits of this scheme, it is necessary to be a resident of Delhi for the last 5 years. Apart from this, the total income of the woman in a year should be less than 1,00,000, along with this, no other government pension should be received, the woman should not have remarried and the bank account should be active.
What documents are required?
For Delhi Widow Pension Scheme, Aadhar Card, proof of age like birth certificate, voter ID, 10th mark sheet, husband’s death certificate or divorce and separation documents, proof of living in Delhi for 5 years like ration card, electricity, water, gas bill, bank passbook, along with this, the bank passbook should be a savings account linked to Aadhar, which should have entries of the last one year. There should be a passport size photo and self declaration form of income.
How to apply for widow pension online?
1. First register on the portal: Go to e-District Delhi portal, go to Citizen Corner and click on New User Registration, enter Aadhaar number and fill all other required information, after completion of registration, User ID and Password will be sent to the mobile number.
2. Now apply online: Log in to the portal again, go to Apply for Service, select Women & Child Development Department, click on Apply against Delhi Pension Scheme to Women in Distress, fill in all the information asked in the form and upload the documents, after submitting the application you will get an Acknowledgement Receipt, take its print or save the PDF.
