Vande Bharat Sleeper Express Update: Indian citizens are soon going to receive the gift of the Vande Bharat Sleeper Express, which will soon be running on the railway tracks. There is considerable excitement among the people regarding this. The first Vande Bharat Sleeper will run from Kolkata to Guwahati.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself will inaugurate the train by flagging it off at the Kolkata station. The event is scheduled for January 17th, and preparations are already underway. PM Narendra Modi and the Governor of West Bengal are also expected to attend the event.

How much will the Vande Bharat Sleeper fare be?
The Vande Bharat Sleeper is set to be launched in five days. The question is how much passengers will have to pay for their journey. According to a circular issued on January 9th, passengers will have to pay for a minimum distance of 400 km.

Only confirmed tickets will be issued for this train. There will be no provision for RAC/waitlist/partially confirmed tickets. All available berths will be available through the reservation period. PM Narendra Modi will be present in Kolkata to flag off this sleeper express. This will further strengthen trade routes between Kolkata and Guwahati.
How will the fare be calculated?
Everyone wants to know the fare for the Vande Bharat Sleeper Express train. Passengers will have to pay approximately ₹2.4 per km for 3AC, ₹3.1 per km for 2AC, and ₹3.8 per km for 1AC. This means the minimum fare for Third AC could be around ₹960.

The minimum fare for Second AC will be around ₹1240, and for First AC, it will be around ₹1520. This fare does not include GST. The train will run at an average speed of 120 to 130 kilometres per hour between the two cities. It will cover the major districts of Assam and West Bengal. Incidentally, both these states are scheduled to hold assembly elections in 2026.
