UPI- This Bank’s UPI service will be closed on September 12, know the timing

UPI Service- Big news for HDFC Bank account holders. Do you use UPI for daily transactions? HDFC Bank has informed its customers that its UPI service will not be available for 90 minutes at night on 12 September 2025.

Why will the service be closed?

HDFC Bank has said that this halt is not due to any fault but due to system upgrade and necessary maintenance. The bank says that this technical improvement will provide customers with a better and faster banking experience in the future.

When will you not be able to use UPI?

According to HDFC Bank, this maintenance work will run from 12 am to 1:30 am on 12 September 2025. That is, during this time no transaction will be possible through UPI for about 90 minutes.

Which services will be affected?

During this time, many services will be closed for both customers and merchants. All UPI transactions related to HDFC Bank savings and current accounts will not be possible. Payments will not be accepted through HDFC Bank mobile banking app and other third-party apps like Google Pay, PhonePe, etc. that support UPI payments through HDFC Bank. HDFC Bank has advised its customers to use their PayZapp wallet during this time. Through this, you can make bill payments, send money and make online and offline purchases.

Net banking services will remain operational

If you are a net banking user of HDFC Bank, then there is a relief news for you. The bank has said that there will be no impact on net banking during this period. Customers can do more than 200 types of transactions through net banking anytime and from anywhere.

What is PayZapp and how does it work?

  • PayZapp is a digital wallet and virtual card from HDFC Bank.
  • With this you can do shopping, bill payment, send money and much more.
  • The special thing is that this is not just for HDFC bank customers. Other bank customers can also use it by downloading PayZapp.

PayZapp Limits and Safety

  1. Transactions up to Rs 10,000 per month can be done on accounts without KYC.
  2. For KYC compliant customers, this limit is Rs 2 lakh per month.

In terms of safety, the bank claims that PayZapp is completely safe. Logins are secured with PIN and biometrics and password and authentication is required for every transaction. The bank has appealed to customers not to plan UPI transactions between 12 am and 1:30 am on September 12 and complete important transactions in advance.
