A new method has been launched in the market, which allows UPI payments to be made even without internet access.
National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has introduced a special feature called UPI Lite X. You may be surprised to hear this, but it is indeed true. Anyway, UPI Lite X is a feature that does not depend on data or Wi-Fi.
To use it, you need a smartphone. The UPI app and NFC features should be enabled in the smartphone. Under UPI Lite X, you can do the work of making payments completely offline.

Now you can make UPI payments even without an internet connection. Anyway, this process is done under NFC. In this, data is shared between both smartphones. In this case, your Lite account is debited, and the receiver’s account is credited immediately. Anyway, it remains completely offline.
If you don’t have a smartphone with an NFC feature or use a feature phone, you can still make offline payments. Through USSD service, i.e. *99#. You will need to dial *99# from the mobile number associated with your bank account. After this, a menu will appear on the screen. Here, you can check your balance. Through this, you can send and receive money. It is also easy to see the transaction history.

Do you know that this service is provided by 83 banks and four telecom companies in the country? It is available in 13 languages. Hindi and English are also included in this. This feature also works on the phone and does not require any app or internet. Through *99#, you can send up to a maximum of 5,000 rupees at a time.
