The Uttar Pradesh government has started a new scheme called ‘Farm-Stay Home Yojana’ to promote tourism in villages. The main goal of this scheme is to give city tourists a real experience of village life, farming, and rural culture. Now, people will not be limited to hotels or resorts—they can also enjoy the real India by staying in villages.
People who invest in this scheme will get a big subsidy from the government. Depending on the investment, the government will give help from Rs 2 crore to Rs 40 crore. This scheme will not only promote village tourism but also create new jobs and income opportunities for local people.
What is the Farm-Stay Scheme?
Farm-Stay means a special tourist stay built on or near a farm. It will be separate from the owner’s house and made only for tourists. It must have at least two rooms and a reception area.
Guests will not only stay there but also join village life and farming activities like:
- Ploughing or harvesting crops
- Horticulture and plantation
- Fish and dairy farming
- Animal husbandry and organic farming
- Moving around villages to see farmer’s life
This way, tourists will see real village life, and villagers can show their art, food, and culture.
How Much Subsidy Will Investors Get?
The biggest benefit of this scheme is subsidy. The government will give help at different levels:
- 25% subsidy up to ₹10 crore (max ₹2 crore)
- 20% subsidy up to ₹50 crore (max ₹7.5 crore)
- 15% subsidy up to ₹200 crore (max ₹20 crore)
- 10% subsidy above ₹500 crore (max ₹40 crore)
So, both small and big investors can take part.
Other benefits:
- 5% interest subsidy on bank loans up to ₹5 crore (for 5 years, max ₹25 lakh a year)
- 100% exemption on stamp duty, land conversion, and development fee
- Extra subsidy for women, SC/ST, backward class investors, and focus tourism projects (up to 30%)
Benefits for Villagers and Tourists
This scheme will bring income to villagers. They can sell local food, handicrafts, and folk art. It will create new jobs and support farmers. Youth and women can also start businesses in tourism and local products.
Tourists will enjoy peace, fresh air, and real Indian culture away from city life, while learning about farming directly.
