What is Baal Aadhaar?
Did you know that in February 2018, the UIDAI brought good news by launching a blue-colored ‘Baal Aadhaar’ card specifically for children? It stands out visually compared to a standard Aadhaar card. It has been designed specifically for young children. Any child residing in India is eligible to apply for it.
Why are these documents necessary?
You will be pleased to know that obtaining a Baal Aadhaar card does not require an extensive list of documents. The child’s birth certificate or a hospital discharge slip is the primary requirement. Additionally, the Aadhaar card of one of the parents is also mandatory, as the child’s Aadhaar is directly linked to theirs. Furthermore, proof of address is also required.
