7TH PAY COMMISSION: Now the time has come when the central government will give a big gift to the central employees. You must be wondering whether there will be any update on the 8th Pay Commission. This is a different matter, but the central government is going to increase the DA of its employees and pensioners in the festive season. The Modi government will increase dearness allowance, i.e. DA by 3 per cent.
Before Diwali, the DA hike can be announced by October 14. More than one crore employees and pensioners will benefit from this increase. The benefit of increased DA will be available from July 1, 2025. However, nothing has been said officially on the date of the DA hike. Such talks are going on in media reports.
How much will be DA?
If the Modi government increases DA by 3 per cent, then it will increase to 58 per cent. At present, central employees are getting the benefit of 5 per cent DA. This can see a strong increase in the salary of the employees. If the basic salary of a central employee is Rs 50,000, then an increase of Rs 1500 can be seen at the rate of 3 per cent DA.
The salary will increase by about Rs 18,000 every year. Its rates will be effective from July 1. The rates of DA, which were increased earlier, were considered effective from January 1, 2025. The government increases DA twice a year. Its rates are applicable from January 1 and July 1.
When will the 8th Pay Commission be implemented?
The question running in the minds of central employees is when the 8th Pay Commission will be implemented. The government has approved the 8th Pay Commission, but it has not been formed yet.
According to the 10-year tradition, the new Pay Commission should be implemented from January 1, 2026. But its chances seem almost nil. Even after the formation, the review may take up to 18 months. It is clear that it is likely to be implemented in some month of the year 2027. All the employees are also eagerly waiting for it.
