New Delhi: A severe winter has begun in many parts of India, prompting people to wear warm clothing and use bonfires to protect themselves. Amid the increasing cold, children are eagerly awaiting school holidays. If temperatures drop further, the winter holidays may begin.
Due to the cold, the drop in temperatures and dense fog have caused problems. The winter holiday calendar has not yet been released. The cold has begun to impact schooling in hilly areas. Due to the cold, dense fog, and snowfall, school holidays have been announced in Jammu and Kashmir. In the winter zone (mainly mountainous areas) of Jammu and Kashmir, schools will be closed on December 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14.
If the outbreak continues, schools will remain closed beyond December 14. In the winter zone of Jammu and Kashmir, all pre-primary schools and schools up to grade 8 will remain closed for the entire month of December.

Children will be happy to know that pre-primary schools in Jammu and Kashmir will be closed from November 26, 2025, to February 28, 2026. Additionally, schools for classes 1 to 8 will be closed from December 1, 2025, to February 2026. Schools for classes 9 to 12 will be closed from December 11, 2025, to February 22, 2026.
