SBI Account Like Jan Dhan Account

The SBI Zero Balance Account is also known as the Basic Savings Bank Deposit Account (BSBDA). It offers the same zero balance facility as the Jan Dhan Account.

Eligibility and KYC Requirements

Anyone can easily open this account by fulfilling the KYC conditions, which include having a PAN Card and an Aadhaar Card.

The account also offers a Joint Savings Account option, meaning a husband and wife can open a joint account together. You will need all the necessary documents to open the account.

Benefits of SBI Zero Balance Account

1. No Minimum Balance:

There is no need to maintain a minimum balance, and you won’t be penalized even if the balance is low.

2. Unlimited Balance:

You can keep any amount in this account, as there is no limit on the maximum balance.

3. Basic Banking Features:

Account holders get a passbook, Rupee ATM-cum-debit card, and access to mobile and internet banking. Please note that a free chequebook is not provided.

4. Easy Withdrawals:

You can withdraw money using your Aadhaar card and also make payments through UPI.

5. No Charges for Account Closure:

If you decide to close the account, there are no charges for account closure.

Important Points to Keep in Mind

  • You can open a zero-balance account only if you do not already have a savings account.
  • If you already have a savings account and wish to open a zero-balance account, you must close your current savings account within 30 days.
