If you have a SimplyCLICK SBI Card, Air India SBI Platinum Credit Card, or Air India SBI Signature Credit Card, then this news is important for you. SBI Card has made some major changes to its reward points program, which will come into effect from April 1, 2025.
Under these changes, the reward points on some online transactions and travel purchases have been reduced. Therefore, if you use these cards, then you must know about these changes so that you can make the most of your reward points. So let’s know about these changes in detail.
Reward points will decrease spending on Swiggy

From April 1, 2025, the reward points on transactions made on Swiggy on SimplyCLICK SBI Card will be reduced. Earlier, cardholders used to get 10X reward points on spending on Swiggy, but now it has been reduced to 5X.
However, this card will continue to get 10X reward points on some other online shopping websites like Apollo 24X7, BookMyShow, Cleartrip, Dominos, IGP, Myntra, Netmeds, and Yatra. If you are a regular user of Swiggy, this change may matter to you.

Reward points will also be less on Air India tickets
SBI Card has also made several changes to the reward points available on the purchase of Air India tickets. From March 31, 2025, the reward points available on Air India SBI Platinum Credit Card and Air India SBI Signature Credit Card on purchasing tickets through the Air India website or mobile app will be reduced. This is a setback for those who travel frequently by Air India and accumulate reward points through these cards.
Huge drop in reward points
The primary cardholders of Air India SBI Platinum Credit Card will now get only 5 reward points per ₹ 100 spent, up from 15 earlier. This is a huge cut that will significantly reduce the rate of reward earning for these cardholders.
Air India SBI Signature Credit Card

At the same time, the primary cardholders of Air India’s SBI Signature Credit Card will now get only 10 reward points per ₹ 100 spent, up from 30 points earlier. This change will also significantly affect the earning of reward points.
Free insurance coverage will also end
Apart from these changes, SBI Card has also decided to end its free insurance coverage. From July 26, 2025, air accident insurance cover of ₹ 50 lakh and rail accident insurance cover of ₹ 10 lakh will be discontinued for cardholders. This is another blow to cardholders who used to avail of these free insurance facilities.
