Salary Hike- There is good news for the contract employees of Chandigarh PGI (Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research). The central government has approved the implementation of Same & Similar Wage. This will increase the salary by Rs 7000. The new pay scale will be considered applicable from January 2024. 3500 contract employees will benefit from this.
After this decision, the cleaning staff will now get Rs 27,000 instead of Rs 20,000, the security guard will get Rs 28,000 instead of Rs 21,000 and the attendant will get Rs 26,000 instead of Rs 19,000. This will put an additional burden of about Rs 3 crore on PGI every month. The new rates will be applicable from January 2024, in this case, the pending arrears of 19 months will also be paid, for this an amount of Rs 50 crore will also be released.
Actually, the contract employees of PGI were demanding a salary hike for a long time. On 6 December 2024, the 8th petition of the PGI administration was placed before the Central Advisory Contract Labor Board (CACLB), in which an appeal was made to give exemption again from 13 January 2024 to 12 January 2026. The board had approved the condition of two years’ exemption on 9 October 2018, but the rule was not implemented. After this, the Joint Action Committee (JAC) and the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) directly contacted the Union Law Minister and sought support. After this, the Law Ministry gave approval on 16 July.
Not only that, There is good news for the teachers of Uttar Pradesh. After 6 years, the Yogi Adityanath government of the state has decided to increase the vehicle allowance of ARP and SRG by Rs 2,000 each and the allowance of Diet Mentor by Rs 1,000. Apart from this, Rs 500 per month will also be given for self-made teaching learning material.

For this, these teachers are also given vehicle allowance. From the year 2019, ARP and SRG are given a vehicle allowance of Rs 2500 and Diet Mentor Rs 1000 per month, in which the Yogi government has decided to amend it after 6 years and make it Rs 4500 and Rs 2000.
