Now it has been announced to increase their monthly pension amount to Rs 3500. The pension rate increased by the Odisha government will be considered effective from January 2025, which will benefit many people.
Anyway, the Director of Social Security and Disabled Empowerment Department and IAS Niyati Patnaik have issued a letter to all the District Social Security Officers and instructed them. In the letter, he said the list of older adults aged 80 years or more and eligible beneficiaries with 80 per cent or more disability will be prepared and sent to the department soon. Instructions have also been given to the District Magistrates.

A copy of the letter issued has also been sent to all the District Magistrates of the state. So that they can cooperate in the implementation of this order by doing proper coordination at the district level. It has also been made necessary to send the list of eligible beneficiaries prepared as per Appendix-A to the department for approval.
Along with this, according to the government, this pension will help older people and people with disabilities to live a respectable life. The direct benefit of the pension increase is going to the most needy section of society. This decision is also a symbol of the public welfare commitment of the state government.
