Honorarium Hike: In light of the assembly election outcomes across five states, each newly established government is presenting fresh benefits to its constituents. In this context, on May 18th, the newly formed government led by VD Satheesan in Kerala has also announced honorarium increases for the state’s ASHA workers. This news has brought significant happiness to these workers.

Present from the Kerala Government

VD Satheesan took the oath as Chief Minister of Kerala today, and right after, the first cabinet meeting convened. During this meeting, it was decided to raise the honorarium for ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, and primary teachers. The government shared this update via the Congress’s Twitter account, X. In their post, they stated, “A gift for the people of Kerala.” Following this, the government made two commitments and outlined them.

Did the employees have the right chance to shop?

This post details the increase and the benefits offered by the government to primary teachers, ASHA workers, and women.

Women will be permitted to travel for free on KSRTC (Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation) buses.
The honorarium for ASHA workers will be raised by Rs 3,000.
The salaries of Anganwadi workers, pre-primary teachers, cooking staff, and helpers will be increased by Rs 1,000.
A dedicated ministry for senior citizens will be established.

Just as government employees have a dearness allowance (DA), ASHA workers, health workers, and Anganwadi workers also have an honorarium allowance. This allowance is implemented by the governments of Kerala and Uttar Pradesh.

V.D. Satheesan was sworn in as Chief Minister on Monday at the Central Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. With this, the Congress-led UDF returned to power after a decade. The new government’s very first decisions have indicated that its main focus will be on welfare schemes and providing relief to the common people.
