BPL Card Update: For the past few days, a message has been circulating on people’s phones regarding ration cards, which has also gone viral on social media. The message talks about getting names removed from the BPL ration card list. If you have received this message, there is no need to panic, but it is important to be cautious.

The Haryana government is preparing to take strict action against fake BPL card holders. The government has clearly stated that those whose annual income exceeds the prescribed limit must remove their names from the list themselves. If they do not do so, they will face an FIR after April 20.

1,609 Names Removed from Haryana’s BPL Ration Card List

At present, about 51.96 lakh families are included in Haryana’s BPL list (BPL List 2025). Out of these, the names of 1,609 families have been removed so far. The government has sent SMS alerts to all BPL card holders, asking them to update their income details — especially those who got BPL cards by providing false information.

Government Issues Strict Warning

The Haryana government has clearly warned that any person found in the BPL list after April 20 with wrong income details will face an FIR. Those whose income is more than the prescribed limit should either remove their names from the list or update their income information.

  6. Do You Need to Surrender the BPL Card?
