Poultry farming is giving good income today, so it is being done in both rural and urban areas. Farmers can earn more money from poultry farming. To help farmers increase their income, the government also gives subsidy for this work. For this, the state government has started the Murgi Poultry Farm Scheme.

Under this scheme, the state government gives a subsidy of Rs 5 lakh to the beneficiary. Farmers or youth who want to open a poultry farm can apply and get this help. The State Animal Husbandry Department is taking applications for this scheme.

The state government has also started the Samekin Murgi Vikas Yojana. Under this, the government will give subsidy to open a broiler poultry farm with 3,000 birds. The aim of this scheme is to create local employment and help farmers and youth earn more.

How much subsidy will be available?

Under the Integrated Poultry Development Scheme, subsidy is given to open a broiler poultry farm of 3,000 birds. The department has fixed the cost of the farm at Rs 10 lakh.

  • General category beneficiaries will get 30% subsidy or maximum Rs 3 lakh.
  • SC/ST beneficiaries will get 50% subsidy or maximum Rs 5 lakh.

  • A bank loan can also be taken under this scheme.
  • The general category can get a loan of up to Rs 3 lakh.
  • SC/ST category can get a loan of up to Rs 5 lakh.
  • Applicant must have 10% of project cost as margin money for bank loan.

To open a 3,000-capacity poultry farm, 7,000 sq. ft. land is required. The land should be near the road. It can be own, ancestral, or leased. Land papers or lease agreement will be needed at the time of application.

Documents required: Aadhaar card, caste certificate (for SC/ST), photo, residence proof, bank passbook, PAN card, land papers, land map, lease papers (if any), poultry training proof.

How to apply:

Go to the official website state.bihar.gov.in/ahd. Register with Aadhaar number or voter ID, upload documents and submit the online form. After applying, you will get an application ID and receipt. You can check the status online with the ID or Aadhaar/Voter ID. A detailed project report must be attached with the application.
