The government has now made it mandatory for all the beneficiaries of this scheme to get eKYC (Electronic Know Your Customer). If you do not get eKYC done, your LPG connection can be cut and the subsidy you get can also be stopped. Eligibility of PM Ujjwala Yojana eKYC
To complete the eKYC process, you must meet some eligibility criteria of PM Ujjwala Yojana:
- Only women can apply and get eKYC done under this scheme.
- The age of the woman applying should be 18 years or above.
- Women whose name is registered in the BPL (below poverty line) ration card will be considered eligible.
- Those who already have a gas connection will not be eligible for this scheme.
- The annual income of the woman’s family should be less than ₹ 2,00,000 (two lakh rupees).

How to do PM Ujjwala Yojana eKYC
Online Method
All beneficiaries need to follow these steps to complete the online eKYC process:
- First of all open the official website of your gas provider (eg My Bharat Gas, Indane, HP Gas). (For example, my.ebharatgas.com for My Bharat Gas)
- Go to the section related to ‘eKYC’ or ‘Know Your Customer’ on the main page of the website.
- Now a new page will open in front of you where you have to enter your Aadhaar number and registered mobile number.
- After entering the information, click on the ‘Get OTP’ option.
- You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number. Enter it in the specified place and click on ‘Verify’.
- After completing these steps, your PM Ujjwala Yojana eKYC process will be completed through online mode.
Offline Method
If you are unable to do eKYC online or prefer the offline method, you can follow these steps:
- Visit your nearest gas agency or Community Service Center (CSC).
- Don’t forget to carry a photocopy of your Aadhaar card and your registered mobile number with you.
- Get the eKYC application form from the concerned officer at the gas agency or Community Service Center.
- Enter all the required information (like name, address, gas connection number, and Aadhaar number) correctly in this form.
- After filling in all the information, attach the photocopy of your documents (Aadhaar card) with the form.
- Now submit the filled form and attached documents to the agency or center. Your form will be checked there.
- Thus, your eKYC process will be completed offline.
