The next installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme is set to be deposited into farmers’ accounts soon. However, the government has already clarified that many farmers will not receive their ₹2,000 this time because they have not completed certain required updates.
Farmers whose information is incomplete, pending, or whose verification is not up-to-date are at risk of having their installment withheld. Therefore, it is crucial to check your status before receiving the money. Let’s learn which incomplete tasks can cause your ₹2,000 to be withheld and how to check the status.
Lack of e-KYC is the biggest obstacle

The biggest and primary reason for installment delays under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme is e-KYC (Electronic Know Your Customer). The government has explicitly made e-KYC mandatory and announced that without it, no farmer will be paid the next installment. Many farmers have not yet completed this process, resulting in installment transfers being held up despite their names being on the list.
If you want to receive the ₹2,000 PM Kisan Yojana benefit without any hassles, complete your e-KYC as soon as possible. The e-KYC process is very simple and can be completed via OTP on the Kisan Portal, by visiting the nearest CSC center, or through biometrics.
Errors in Bank Details or Lack of Aadhaar Linking
Many farmers complain that they have completed all the processes, including e-KYC, yet have not received their installment. This is primarily due to mismatches in bank details. Many accounts are not linked to Aadhaar, some have incorrect IFSC codes, and some account names do not match Aadhaar. Some farmers’ accounts are closed or inactive.
In the event of such technical glitches, the money is returned, and the installment is stuck. The government has advised farmers to double-check their account information to avoid any problems with transactions.
Land Documents Not Updating
The PM Kisan Yojana benefits only those farmers who own cultivable land. In many cases, farmers have not updated their land records, the name change process is pending, or the documents are incomplete. In such situations, installments may be withheld despite eligibility. In many states, land records are digitally verified. Therefore, even minor errors in documents can cause delays in payments. Farmers are advised to ensure that their land records are properly updated.
Lack of Information Due to Unupdated Mobile Numbers

Many farmers are unaware of when their installment was released or why it was stopped because their mobile numbers are not updated on the portal. When the number is outdated or disabled, they neither receive verification OTPs nor installment-related messages. This blocks farmers’ payments. Keeping their mobile number updated ensures timely KYC, bank verification, and installment-related alerts. Therefore, it is crucial to keep the mobile number updated on the portal.
Check PM Kisan Status Before the Instalment Arrives
PM Kisan Nidhi Yojana beneficiaries are advised to check their status before the next installment is released. This will clarify whether their installment has been approved or is on hold for some reason.
To check the status of the PM Kisan Nidhi Yojana, first visit the scheme website pmkisan.gov.in.
Select the Beneficiary List option, then select the state, district, block, and village.
Then click “Get Report.”
You can check your name here.
If your name is on this list, there’s no need to worry. However, if your name isn’t on the list, the installment will not be credited to your account.
