PM Kisan: There’s good news for farmers. The 21st installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM Kisan) scheme is expected to arrive in the first week of November. However, the government has not yet announced an official date. Therefore, farmers who haven’t yet completed their registration or eKYC should do so soon so that the next installment of Rs 2,000 can be credited to their accounts on time.
What is PM Kisan Yojana?
The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is a flagship scheme of the central government that provides financial assistance of ₹6,000 annually to eligible farmers. This amount is disbursed in three installments.
First installment : April to July
Second installment: August to November
Third installment: December to March
Every four months, an installment of Rs 2,000 is sent directly to farmers’ bank accounts through DBT. This scheme was introduced in the 2019 interim budget and launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi . Today, it is considered the world’s largest DBT scheme.
Who is eligible for this scheme?
The beneficiary must be an Indian citizen.
He should have cultivable land.
He may be a small or marginal farmer.
Farmers receiving pension of Rs 10,000 or more or filing income tax are not eligible.
Institutional land holders such as trusts or companies also cannot avail the benefits of this scheme.
Why is e-KYC necessary?
The government has made e-KYC mandatory to ensure that only genuine farmers receive benefits from the scheme and that no fraudulent activities occur. If a farmer hasn’t completed e-KYC yet, they may miss out on the 21st installment. Therefore, all farmers are advised to complete this process as soon as possible. Which farmers have received the installment?
This time, the government has already released the 21st installment to farmers in some flood-affected states. These include Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Jammu and Kashmir. Farmers in other states may have to wait a little longer. It’s expected that the remaining farmers will receive their installments in the first week of November. So, if you haven’t yet completed your e-KYC, don’t delay. Complete this process in time so that the 21st installment can reach your account without interruption.
