India is an agricultural country, where there is a large population of farmers. But with increasing age, hard work in the fields starts decreasing, and income also decreases. In such a situation, financial security becomes a big need in old age. Keeping this need in mind, the central government has started the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Mandhan Yojana.

This scheme is especially for the small and marginal farmers of the country, so that they do not have to depend on anyone in old age, and they can live a life with dignity. Let us know about this scheme in detail.

How much pension will the farmers get

Under the PM Kisan Mandhan Yojana, when an eligible farmer completes the age of 60 years, he is given a fixed pension of ₹ 3,000 every month. In this way, the farmer gets a total of ₹ 36,000 in a year. This pension amount gives strong support to the farmers in old age and reduces their financial troubles to a great extent. This scheme works like a retirement fund for farmers.

How does this scheme work

To join this scheme, the farmer has to deposit a small amount of premium every month, which is decided according to their age. This premium can range from ₹ 55 to ₹ 200. The advantage of applying at a young age is that the sooner the application is made in this scheme, the lower the monthly premium will be.

For example, the premium for an 18-year-old farmer will be ₹ 55, while for a 40-year-old farmer it will be ₹ 200. The best thing about this scheme is that the Central Government also deposits the same amount of premium as the farmer deposits in their pension fund. In this way, the government also directly helps in making the farmers self-reliant.

What is the process of applying

Applying to this scheme is very simple. You just have to go to your nearest Common Service Center (CSC) with some important documents.

For the application, you will have to take your Aadhar card, bank passbook, and proof of your age.

Your Aadhar-based registration will be done at the Common Service Center.

At the time of registration, you will be told the amount of the monthly contribution, which you have to deposit every month.

Once you join this scheme, you start getting a pension every month after the age of 60. This scheme guarantees a secure future for the farmers, allowing them to enjoy life without any major financial worries.
