Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather bulletin for several states across the country, covering the next five days. Alerts regarding heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and squalls have been issued for various states. Meanwhile, several parts of Northwest and Central India remain gripped by severe heatwaves. Furthermore, amid the scorching heat in North India, alerts for rain and thunderstorms have been issued for the states of South India over the next five days. Additionally, the monsoon is expected to advance into parts of the South Bay of Bengal, the Andaman Sea, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands around May 16.

An alert has been issued due to the likelihood of heavy rainfall in isolated places across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe, and South Interior Karnataka between May 13 and May 17. According to the latest bulletin from the Meteorological Department, heavy to very heavy rainfall is also likely at some locations in Northeast India between May 13 and May 19, as well as in parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.
