Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 21st installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme. Reports say that an amount of ₹20,500 crore was directly transferred to the accounts of 97 million farmers across the country through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).

The scheme started in 2019 and has so far given more than ₹3.69 lakh crore to farmers through 19 installments. Each year, farmers receive a ₹6,000 subsidy in three equal instalments.
