Farmers are eagerly waiting for the 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. Around 9.8 crore farmers in the country are upset due to the delay. If we look at last year’s record, farmers received the installment in June. Now, in 2025, July is also about to end, but the government has still not said when the next installment of PM Kisan will come.

What is PM Kisan Yojana?

PM Kisan Yojana started in 2019. It was announced by the then Finance Minister Piyush Goyal in the interim budget. Under this scheme, the central government gives ₹6,000 every year to small and marginal farmers. This money is given in three parts. Farmers get ₹2,000 every four months. The government sends this money directly to the farmers’ bank accounts through DBT, which means Direct Benefit Transfer. This scheme is one of the largest DBT schemes in the world. Till now, the government has sent 19 installments to farmers.

The 19th installment was released in February 2025. The 18th installment was given in October 2024. The 17th installment was received in June 2024.

Who gets the benefit of PM Kisan Yojana?

Only those people who fulfill certain rules can get the money. The person must be an Indian citizen and must have land for farming. He must be a small or marginal farmer. He should not have paid income tax. He should not get a pension of ₹10,000 or more. Also, the land must not be held by an institution like a company or group.

What is needed to get the 20th installment of PM Kisan?

To get the 20th installment, farmers must complete e-KYC. Their Aadhaar must be linked to their bank account. They should check and verify their bank details. They must also correct land record details if needed. Beneficiary status should be checked. Their mobile number should also be updated.

How to update land address?

To update land information, go to the website pmkisan.gov.in. Click on ‘State Transfer Request’ under the ‘Farmers Corner’. Enter your registration number or Aadhaar number. Fill the captcha and ask for OTP. Enter the OTP sent to your phone. Upload land documents like Khasra or Khatauni. After checking the information, submit the form.

How to check beneficiary status?

To know if you will get the next installment, visit pmkisan.gov.in. Click on the tab ‘Beneficiary Status’. Enter your Aadhaar number or bank account number. Click on ‘Get Data’. After that, you will see your status and installment details on the screen.

e-KYC is important for PM Kisan

The government has clearly said that farmers must do e-KYC. Their Aadhaar should be linked with the bank. Land documents must be correct. If all information is not correct, the installment will not come.

How to check e-KYC?

To check e-KYC status, visit the PM Kisan portal. Click on the option ‘Know Your Status’ and check if Aadhaar is linked or not.

How to check if your name is in the list?

Go to the PM Kisan website pmkisan.gov.in. On the homepage, you will see a map of India. Click on the yellow Dashboard tab. Fill the details in the Village Dashboard. Choose your state, district, block and panchayat. Then click on ‘Get Report’. You will see the list.

If you want to get the next installment, update your documents and complete e-KYC in time. Only those farmers will get the benefit whose details are correct and updated.

How to do e-KYC?

To complete e-KYC, visit pmkisan.gov.in. You can do OTP based e-KYC online. Or you can go to the nearest CSC center to do biometric e-KYC.

How can new farmers register for PM Kisan?

Go to the PM Kisan website pmkisan.gov.in. Click on ‘New Farmer Registration’. Enter your Aadhaar number and captcha. Fill the full form and submit. After checking all your details, your name will be added to the PM Kisan list.
